Introduction
Southwest KC Minor Hockey Association (SWKC) provides programs for players aged 4 to 12 years. SWKC area boundaries are South of the North Saskatchewan River and West of Calgary Trail. All new registrants who live within these boundaries have the choice and are eligible to register with SWKC. If you are not within these boundaries, please contact EMHA at 780.413.3498 or visit their website.

Registration for the 2022-2023 Hockey Season

Welcome back returning SWKC players!
Please note the following to help make the on-line registration process easier:
- It is recommended that you use either Chrome or Firefox browser.
- You will need your child’s 13-digit number Hockey Canada ID number.
- Hockey Canada’s migration to their new registration system, HCR 3.0, requires users to create and link a Spordle account.
- Go to the Hockey Canada registry website.
- Create your new account
- Spordle it set up to guide you step-by-step through the process. You will see your Hockey Canada ID once you find and link your player to your account.

Our refund policy allows for 100% refund of all fees if registration is withdrawn before the player takes to the ice.

Players are assigned to a category based on their age as of December 31 of the season they are registering for:

* These categories participate in our Enhanced Program Package that includes additional development practice ice times, dry-land training sessions, dry-land gear, practice jersey and socks, and water bottle.
We are waiving the late registration fee for the 2022-23 season to provide continued support to our hockey families in response to the pandemic and inflation rates.
Under normal circumstances, returning player registrations (U9, U11, and U13) received after August 15, 2022 would be subject to a $100.00 late fee.

Southwest KC Minor Hockey Association (SWKC) is committed to delivering a hockey program designed to emphasize fun and progressive skill development so the player can advance their skills and become a contributing member of a team.
To assist you in determining which category to register in, we’ve provided the following information.
Registration Categories for 2022-2023 Season
Players are assigned to a category based on their age as of December 31 of the season they are registering for:

Our TIMBITS program is for athletes ages 4 to 6 years old. Hockey Edmonton's Initiation Program (called: TIMBITS) has been split into THREE separate and distinct programs: DISCOVERY, Junior TIMBITS and Senior TIMBITS.
Recognizing the importance of the hockey experience to be safe and positive for beginners, SWKC offers a program with the following benefits:
- Create an atmosphere of fun and fair play for players, coaches and parents allowing for a positive experience;
- Give each player an opportunity to develop self-confidence and a sense of personal achievement;
- Develop and increase skating ability (power skating, backwards, forwards, turns, etc);
- Learn introductory hockey skills (puck handling, shooting, passing);
- Introduction to team concept and team environment; and
- Introduction to positional play.

Provides gently used sports equipment at no cost to kids in need. For further details, click here.

Provides financial support for registration fees to children from families facing financial barriers so they can participate in registered sports program. For further details, click here.

Canadian Tire Jumpstart
Provides families in financial need with a financial boost for registration and equipment costs to get kids involved in sport. Funds can also be provided for adaptive equipment to help kids with special needs. For further details, click here.
