Southwest KC Minor Hockey Association (SWKC), founded in 2009, has grown out of the dedication and commitment of our hockey families to providing high-quality minor hockey for our children in the community.

As part of the Knights of Columbus Hockey Club with over 65 years of minor hockey experience, SWKC delivers a minor hockey program for children ages 4 to 12 in southwest Edmonton. Children begin with U7 (Discovery) where they learn to skate and develop introductory hockey skills with full hockey equipment.

The foundation of a child's experience in hockey is developed at the early years where they experience an atmosphere of fun and fair play, along with the development of self-confidence and a sense of personal achievement. Children transition quickly into athletes where they begin to experience the benefits of organized sport through developing healthy habits, social and teamwork skills, confidence in ability, and sportsmanship. From U7 (Novice) to U13 (Peewee), our athletes continue to refine their skills becoming ambassadors of our sport.

Like any amateur sport association, we have been successful through the commitment of our members volunteering countless hours to the hockey program. However, as we continue to grow, our commitment to sustain and improve the quality of our hockey program becomes difficult without the assistance and partnership of our sponsors.
